Stroke Awareness
Stroke is third leading cause of death and a leading cause of serious, long-term disability in the United States. When someone has a stroke, the blood flow to part of the brain stops or is dramatically reduced. Cells in the brain do not get the oxygen and nutrients they need and start to die.
It is important to understand the factors that can increase your risk for stroke. Research has shown that you can take steps to prevent stroke by reducing and controlling your risk factors.
It is also very important to know the warning signs of stroke. If you act quickly and seek treatment immediately, you could reduce the disabilities caused by stroke.

Call 9-1-1 immediately if you or someone you know experiences these signs of stroke.
